Insite, the newspaper written by students for students, has published its edition for the new academic year. Matthew Anastasi wrote the following on the paper in this edition:
Insite started off in March 2000 when a few ambitious students turned The Voice newspaper into a completely new media organisation on campus called 'Insite'. Insite has grown rapidly in the three years of its existence.
One would ask - What is Insite exactly? What is it all about? If I had to take you through the whole story behind Insite, I would have to sit here writing forever! However, I can take you through a few things which would ultimately interest you as a student.
Insite is the student media organisation on campus which gives you the chance to be creative, to be expressive and to voice your opinion. Why? Well, that's a good question. Especially for you freshers out there, it's time you plug into what is happening around you!
Forget how may times your teachers and lecturers have told you to sit down and shut up in the past! Insite gives you the chance to express it - whatever it may be! And what do the law students call it? Freedom of expression, that's it! Be it the magazine, the newspaper or the website, Insite gives you the chance of introducing yourself to the rest of the students, hence this year's slogan - Introduce Yourself!
Insite does not only stick to the sought out news and features to plaster over the University media. It's got a lot of fun-packed extracurricular activities in store for you which just about anyone can be a part of. Among the many activities, this year's Insite will give you 'chillin-in' which promises to be a weekly appointment for all students who want to relax on a Tuesday night (while reminiscing about the weekend!).
Spectacula Spectacula is for all you musical lovers, and last but not least National Students Congress which was a very successful event last year.
With all of these ambitious activities and projects, Insite must be backed by quite a strong team. In fact, Insite has 13 strong executive members and commissioners working very hard to make this year yet another success, namely: Karl Galea, Jonathan Dalli, Malcolm Azzopardi, James Vella Bardon (your trusted editor), Francesca Ellul Castaldi, Daniela Grech, Justine Dingli, Lysanne Bakker, Kristina Pullicino, Mauro Miceli, Sarah Jane Attard and Meriel Borg. A big thanks goes out to all of you, and to all our members and readers! Have a good year.
