<i>L-Istrina</i> receiving applications

Public Broadcasting Services Ltd said the selection committee for L-Istrina 2003 has been constituted and it is now in a position to accept and discuss applications for funds from various organisations.

Those organisations which have already applied need not apply again. Applications will be accepted only from organisations and not from individuals.

L-Istrina, the annual fund-raising marathon organised by the team of Where's Everybody?, last year raised over Lm900,000 in the Christmas fund-raising campaign.

Proceeds of the record sum went to the Malta Community Chest Fund; Razzett tal-Hbiberija; Life Cycle for the renal unit; Moviment Missjunarju Gesu fil-Proxxmu and the Jesuits' Refugee Service.

After a selection process of applications, a meeting will be held with individual applicant organisations during which the audited accounts of the organisation will be presented and the particular project, for which L-Istrina funds are being requested, will be discussed, PBS said.

All applications should be received by July 30 and are to be addressed to L-Istrina, Public Broadcasting Services Ltd., 75, St Luke's Road, Guardamangia.
