Ian Borg to debate live on Il-Każin this Wednesday
Malta's Foreign Affairs Minister to face questions from Mark Laurence Zammit
Ian Borg will be in the hot seat as Mark Laurence Zammit hosts Il-Każin for the first time this coming Wednesday evening.
Malta’s Foreign Affairs Minister will be grilled on the war in Iran, turmoil in the broader Middle East and how those problems – as well as the ongoing war in Ukraine – shape Malta and its role in world politics.
What does being neutral mean in a world that is at war? How are Malta’s relationships with its allies changing? And at what point do global events impact day-to-day life here in Malta?
The debate will be streamed live on both Times of Malta and Il-Każin YouTube channels, with Zammit interviewing Borg in front of a live audience.
A limited number of seats to attend the event as part of the live audience are available. Anyone interested in attending can sign up here. Guests need to be seated by 8pm.
Ian Borg has served as Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade since 2022, having previously headed the Transport and Infrastructure ministerial portfolio. Malta has played a more active global role during Borg's tenure, chairing the OSCE and Council of Europe and serving a term as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
Il-Każin is a live debate show held once a month in front of a live audience. Following a collaboration deal with Times of Malta, award-winning journalists Jon Mallia and Mark Laurence Zammit will alternate as hosts.
The final segment of each show will see audience members ask Ian Borg questions directly.
