The Eden Ice Arena hosted the second annual Ice Hockey Canada Cup, played between a token Maltese team and a token Canadian team made up of the best players of the Ice Hockey League.
The Maltese team came out on top with a final score of 6-2.
Ice hockey was introduced at the arena last year with the help of the Canadian consulate.
Since then ice hockey has grown into a fully fledged sport in the form of a league.
The entertainment began with a junior exhibition match between the youth hockey team made up of Maltese children aged between 11 and 16 years.
Eden Ice Arena general manager Simon De Cesare said: "The sport of ice hockey is a new one for Malta but one which has gained tremendous momentum".
