The event began last Friday at 7 p.m. as participants led by the Challenge 8000 team set off from Freedom Square, Valletta, on a 24-trek around Malta. Activities have included the high rope course at the BoV Adventure Park in Ta Qali, abseiling down a 20-metre wall at Għar Lapsi and temperatures of -45°C inside the Dewfresh blast freezer in Marsa.
The Challenge 8000 team, consisting of Marco Cremona, Gregory Attard and Robert Gatt, will be the first Maltese to attempt to climb Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain at 8,848-metres, this spring.
