Seventeen illegal immigrants are being kept by the Armed Forces of Malta after they landed at Birzebbuga aboard a boat at about 12.30 a.m. last night, the police said.

Of the 17 immigrants, 14 are men and three are women, they said.

From preliminary investigations, it appears they are from Somalia.
