F.O.I. Director General Wilfred Kenely welcomed a delegation from the International Monetary Fund, who were accompanied by Malcolm Bray, senior economist, Economic Analysis Office, Central Bank of Malta, on Friday.

The IMF delegation was made up of deputy division chief Alexander Hoffmaister and senior economist Bogdan Lissovolik, both from the Southern I European Department; and economist Jaime C. Guajardo, also from the European Department.

During the meeting, the FOI officials, who also included former director general Edwin Calleja, administration manager John B. Scicluna and executive Kevin Caruana, presented the IMF delegates with a brief FOI report on aspects of the current scenario in Malta; economic growth; Malta's adoption of the euro; as well as the Lisbon Strategy.
