Now that Malta is in pole position to join the European Union, will the restriction imposed on the importation of modern radio equipment for use by local radio amateurs be lifted?

If this restriction is removed, Maltese radio amateurs will be at par with their compatriots in Europe who have been using this kind of equipment for quite a long time.

One wonders whether the lifting of this restriction depends on the number of votes involved.
