Victor Spiteri tends to write constructively and thought-provokingly. I read his "Up the Swanny without a paddle!" (April 29), where he expressed his views in response to Anglu Farrugia stating his.
I quote: "Chief among the latter is Arnold Cassola, who has established himself in EU institutions without the benefit of lobbying from the two dominating tribes. Prof. Cassola has succeeded in getting elected twice as secretary general of the European Green parties, purely on his merit. His appointment was in recognition of his qualities as a man of rare quiet diplomatic and organisational skills".
And then: "I shall instead vote for committed Europeans like Prof. Cassola, Simon Busuttil and Joanna Drake for the simple expedient that I know they have the requisite skills to perform with dignity and, above all, I trust them to work diligently to prove that the 'Yes' campaign was right to recommend accession to the Maltese people".
My views entirely and I'll be doing likewise.
