It’s now become the norm for ‘remainers’ to try and figure out a new way of undermining the UK’s decision to leave the European Union.

An example of this is the letter published in The Sunday Times of Malta by David Anderson from Scotland on May 20.  Mr Anderson’s arguments have now become monotonously repetitive, boring and, worse still, pernicious.

Of course, the Scottish people voted 62-38 to remain in the EU, but a recent poll found only 32 were in support of independence, which means that at least the majority of Scots realise that staying as part of the Union is more beneficial than going it alone as part of the EU – and that of course is in the unlikely event that the EU in its post-Brexit fiscal state would want the then poorest country in Europe to become a drain on its now meagre resources.

The unprecedented path that the UK is taking in leaving the EU is a vision into a future where we are in control of our destiny and not having to bow to a foreign court and foreign Parliament, to have to open our borders to all and sundry, and be unable to trade with whoever we wish, while at the same time subsidising the rest of the EU and its hangers on.

As for the “rubbish” pumped out in mainstream newspapers, well, which bit of it should we not believe, the pro-Brexit “rubbish” or the pro-remain “rubbish”? Or perhaps we should all start reading the pro-remain (Scottish?) newspaper rubbish that he seems to read.

Incidentally, those things that we sell “designed to kill people” are also things that keep other people alive and able to defend themselves against aggressors - and also directly and very heavily boost the Scottish economy and jobs market, while at the same time keeps its people safe.
