In pictures: Motorcyclists ride from Mġarr to Dingli in charity 'pilgrimage'
Event co-organised by two parishes in aid of Caritas Malta
Dozens of motorcyclists gathered in Mġarr on Friday morning to take part in a motorcade to Dingli.
The drive, dubbed a 'pilgrimage' and now in its eighth edition, was co-organised by the Mġarr and Dingli parish churches to raise funds for Caritas Malta.
Bikers of all ages and riding two-wheelers of varying sizes all showed up for the event, held on the sunny morning of this year's Santa Marija public holiday. Together they raised around €900 for the NGO.
Riders met at around 9.45am and were greeted by Mġarr parish priest Sean Abela. In Dingli, they were greeted by the village's archpriest David Farrugia, who blessed the riders and their motorcycles.
As part of their Santa Marija feast events, the two villages have also encouraged residents to donate blood. The Mobile Blood Donation Unit was based in Dingli last Sunday and in Dingli today.
