It is amazing how just one of the smallest demonstrations in the political history of Malta ever to be held in Valletta has rocked so many boats. This minor manifestation has driven the Nationalist Party into a frenzy, mobilising its columnists to do their utmost to discredit, character assassinate, make false accusation and create confusion about ANR's beliefs in order to confuse and mislead the public.
In fact, the whole gigantic PN propaganda machine, normally reserved for bringing down political adversaries the calibre of Dom Mintoff, Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici and Alfred Sant has been directed towards a fledgling social movement that is not even a party!
A neurotic case of using a cannon to kill a fly.
Rather than fearing the ANR, the PN should find in the movement inspiration to rediscover its roots, a quest that will give this tired party a new lease of life and make it great again. Under such circumstances I cannot but sympathise with those brave fellow citizens in the ANR who have stuck their necks out for all us Maltese. They single-handedly managed to make us aware that we were never really alone in our concerns as the opinion formers and the pro-immigration journalists wanted to make us believe.
Philip Beattie and Martin Degiorgio should be admired because they have everything to lose and nothing to gain from exposing themselves for their country. It will not be long before history will recognise their selfless contributions towards the survival of these islands.
Courage and good health to you and your collabrators, Philip and Martin! You will be surprised what a huge backing you have managed to muster and how much this nation badly needs people like you.
