Inconsiderate bus drivers

Have you ever noticed that bus drivers do not make use of the reserved space at bus stops but instead opt to stop in the middle of the road?

Late one Tuesday this happened in four places: Gzira, Sliema Ferries, Ghar id-Dud and St Julians, in the space of 20 minutes.

In each occurrence traffic was at a dead stop until the driver had finished taking on his passengers (in one particular case over seven minutes) and surprisingly enough at one stop in Sliema this was done in front of a local warden who, despite the resultant traffic jam, decided to turn a blind eye.

With the acute parking problem in this area I feel that respective local councils should take a stand by either removing these spaces and utilising them for parking or otherwise issuing strict instructions to wardens to fine bus drivers who do not make use of them.
