Since my husband's ill health has forced him to use a small mobility buggy, I have noticed more and more how very inconsiderate some vehicle drivers are! They seem to totally ignore the drop-down kerbs which are intended for the mobility buggies and, I assume, prams and push-chairs.
It causes great inconvenience to the users of these mobility buggies when vehicles obstruct kerb use. These buggies are not made to be bumped down steep curbs and in fact would probably tip over if the users tried to do this. And because the person in the buggy is infirm and/or disabled they are not in a position to lift a heavy buggy down a kerb.
I appeal to vehicle users not to park across these drop-down kerbs. It is in fact against the law as there are usually double yellow lines where these slopes are placed. If you are driving a car then you are able to walk a short distance but normally buggy users can't. Spare a little thought for others.
