Inflation rose to 2.5% in April - NSO

The highest annual inflation rate was recorded in recreation, sport and culture

The annual rate of inflation in April was 2.5 per cent, up from 2.3 per cent in March 202, the NSO said.

The highest annual inflation rates in April 2026 were recorded in recreation, sport and culture (4.4 per cent) and restaurants and accommodation services (4.0 per cent).

On the other hand, the lowest annual inflation rates were registered in clothing and footwear (-5.8 per cent) and information and communication (-2.4 per cent).

In April 2026, the largest upward contribution to the overall annual inflation was registered in the food and non-alcoholic beverages index (+0.66 percentage points), largely due to higher prices of vegetables. The second and third largest contributions were measured in the restaurants and accommodation services Index (+0.63 percentage points) and the transport index (+0.31 percentage points), mainly on account of higher prices for restaurant services and air transport services, respectively.
