An elderly man who slipped and badly hurt one of his feet was ferried to a waiting ambulance by helicopter this morning.

The incident happened in a valley close to Mnajdra Temples.

Since the ambulance could not be driven to the scene, the man was hoisted by AFM helicopter and then lowered near the ambulance, where he was given medical attention by a medical team before being taken to hospital.
