The traffic policeman who was badly injured in a collision close to Mater Dei Hospital on Thursday is no longer critical.

The condition of Toni Galea, 48 from San Gwann, improved and he is no longer in danger, the police said in a statement this morning.

Mr Galea was injured in a collision also involving a van and a car. The incident happened at about 6am on the road between Mater Dei Hospital and Foster Clark in San Gwann. The driver of the van, a 69-year-old man from Qormi, was also hospitalised.
