Inter Club Malta marks 27th anniversary

August 18 is an important date in Inter Club Malta's calendar. On that day the club celebrates its anniversary, this year the 27th.

This year, the committee took the opportunity to present various members and other personalities with mementoes for the occasion.

It is also customary for the club to present the award of 'Member of the Year'. This year it was given to two Inter fans - Steve Bonello and the family Micallef.

Bonello is the goalkeeper of the club's football team while the Micallefs give the club a family feeling. They can always be seen at the club watching Inter's matches. Their son Ryan is a keen Inter supporter who also had the opportunity to visit Appiano Gentile and meet various players and technical staff, especially his idol Adriano.

Another presentation was made to the top scorer of the MFA Premier League for 2004/05 - Andrew Cohen. The Hibs and Malta striker is also a member at Inter Club Malta.

The children of the late David Cluett, the former national team goalkeeper who passed away this year, were also presented with mementoes by the club. It has also been the wish of these two youngsters to visit the club of their favourite team, and when the committee was made aware of this, they immediately took the initiative to invite them for the anniversary celebrations.

Other presentations were made to the Honorary Presidents, as well as other active members who constantly help the club such as Tony Abela MP.
