Lufthansa offered free use of the internet to passengers on its long haul flights from May 17 to 23 to mark the first anniversary of its onboard internet access.

Lufthansa was the first airline worldwide to make such a trend-setting offer to its passengers.

The airline said that according to a study recently presented by Boeing about 93 percent of around 625 users questioned are satisfied or very satisfied with the online service above the clouds.

FlyNet is available on a total 42 long-range aircraft that have been equipped with the corresponding satellite technology.

With the progressive retrofitting, in recent months the availability of the service has been extended particularly on the routes to the US and to Asia.

Passengers can access information on current availability on the FlyNet information pages at www.lufthansa.com
