The Transport Authority is investigating an oil spill in Sliema Creek.

The Authority said its personnel were investigating the exact cause of the leaked fuel seen this morning. No clean up operation was necessary as the fuel evaporated, a fact which led to the investigators to conclude that the fuel was probably diesel.

No damage to the environment is believed to have been caused and shipping operations at the Creek were not affected.
