0The Malta Olympic Committee (MOC) have just been notified by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) that an opportunity to propose a candidate to qualify for a partial scholarship under the IOC Medical Commission 'Individual Sport Medicine Educational Programme' has arisen.

The main objective of this programme is to offer a financial contribution to either recently-qualified doctors or a member of a medical support team, approved by the IOC Medical Commission, to enable them to follow a sport medicine educational programme.

Candidates will have the chance to undertake a practical and clinical scientific specialisation in sport medicine that they will then exercise for the benefit of their national sports community, the MOC statement said.

For more detailed programme guidelines and application form, prospective applicants may contact Kirill Micallef Stafrace or alternatively Joseph Cassar by email at moc@nocmalta.org.

Deadline for applications is next Tuesday. The final selection will be made by the IOC and will be officially communicated to the MOC in June.
