Singer Ira Losco is the new face of Gasan Enterprises Ltd and will be promoting and driving some Mazda and Ford products for the next two years.
Losco has just taken delivery of a brand new Mazda 2 and was presented with the keys by Gasan Enterprises managing director David Gasan.
To coincide with the endorsement, Gasan Enterprises have announced an Ira edition Mazda 2. The 1.3-litre 16-valve 85 bhp sporty-looking model comes in a range of colours with a solid front grille, spoilers and sporty bumpers.
Apart from boasting iPod and MP3 connectivity, buyers of the Ira edition Mazda 2, which costs €17,600, also get the latest iPod Nano, a copy of Ira's DVD and album, plus a signed photograph.
Ira said: "I like cars, and not just to go from A to B. I look out for the aesthetics and the interiors. It is nice to have a drive to be proud of."
"My friends and I are mega impressed with the Mazda 2. I am quite a tomboy and the Mazda 2 is not a girly car. It has masculine features."
In a reference to her latest album, Losco said: "The Mazda 2 is bold and my new album, 'Fortune Teller', is all about this. It is a car I can drive easily and is not too big because parking is an issue.
"Yet it is big enough to carry all my stuff and also comes with five doors. This is a car that is good for the weekend but also for everyday driving. I am continuously on the road, so it is very important that my car is comfortable."
Mr Gasan said: "Mazda's zoom-zoom image - young and full of energy - is very much in line with what Ira Losco portrays. I am confident that Ira and Mazda will go from strength to strength."
Standard features include 15-inch alloy wheels, ABS, brake assist with electronic brake-force distribution, front, side and curtain airbags for driver and passenger, remote central locking with immobiliser, front and rear electric windows, manual air-conditioning, leather steering wheel and shift knob and electric folding door mirrors.
