A 30-year-old Iraqi man was yesterday arraigned before Magistrate Giovanni Grixti and charged with defiling a minor in a public place.

The accused pleaded not guilty.

The magistrate denied a request for bail for the accused, who was remanded in custody at Kordin prison.
