More investment and employment in IT has been attracted to Malta with the relocation of an Italian consultancy firm's head office operations to Msida.
Con.Nexo' already has 20 employees to start operations and plans to double the number by the end of the year.
Speaking at the inauguration of its new offices, Finance Minister Tonio Fenech described the move as "a perfect example" of the returns being yielded by Malta's investment in human resources. Con.Nexo's presence in Malta was "another vote of confidence in our economic policy and vision" for 2015 and another indication of how attainable it was.
Established in Italy in 2004, Con.Nexo' expanded its operations and services to include four countries in Europe and plans to open offices in the UK and South America next year.
Malta was chosen as the location for the head office because of the high-level skills of its labour market, particularly in IT, as well as government assistance through Malta Enterprise.
