The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Accademia della Crusca, is organising a second edition of the Italian Language Week between October 14 and 19.
The Italian Cultural Institute, in collaboration with the Department of Italian at the university, has put together a number of events.
Prof. Joseph Eynaud will present his book "Ciak, si legge!" and deliver a lecture on "Insegnare ed apprendere l'Italiano tramite la letteratura e il cinema" at the institute in Valletta on Monday October 14 at 6 p.m.
Prof. Franco Chiarenza of the LUISS School of Journalism, and vice-president of the Fondazione Einaudi, will give a lecture on "Il linguaggio dell'informazione nei mass media Italiani" at the institute on Tuesday, October 15, at 6 p.m.
A presentation on the OCoN virtual campus on the Italian language and culture will be held at the Department of Italian of the University on Wednesday October 16 at 10 a.m.
That same day, at the the institute at 6 p.m., there will be a presentation of projects by students taking part in the competition "L'italiano perché" organised by Prof. Marina Morbiducc, lecturer of Italian at the university.
Dr Alberto Cattani of the Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri, Comunicazione sociale ed istituzionale, will give a talk on "La versatilita, creativa delle espressioni dell'Italiano nella pubblicita" at the Italian Cultural Institute on Thursday October 17 at 6 p.m., and Prof. Gabriella Alfieri, president of the course in Scienze della Cominicazione at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Catania, will give a talk on "Valutare la competenza testuale scritta: la proposta dell'ASLI (Associazione per la Storia della Lingua Italiana" on Friday October 18 at 6 p.m.
There will be an open day at the institute on Saturday, October 19 from 9 to noon.
