Michelangelo Carbonara, the world-renowned Italian pianist with a soft spot for Gozo, next month will give another charity concert at the Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz, where he received a standing ovation at the end of his last performance there in December 2008.

On March 6, at 7.30 p.m. he will play works by Brahms, Chopin, Schubert and Liszt in the Kappella, the medieval-style banqueting hall of the Kempinski.

It is the first major cultural event scheduled after the reopening of the resort, which is currently closed for extensive refurbishment works of its spa centre.

Following the concert, music lovers will have the opportunity to meet the pianist at a special three-course dinner with an Italian flavour at the Trattoria San Lawrenz, the Kempinski's Italian restaurant.

Entrance fee for the concert is €20 while the price for the dinner is €30 per person, including wine, water and coffee.

Once again, the concert is being organised by Sonia Sinclair Stevenson, who is well known for her charity work in Gozo.

All proceeds from the concert will go towards the Friends of the Sick and the Elderly in Gozo , and the group Happy Moments Kenya, run by Mike Weimar, a long-time Gozo resident.

For bookings of concert tickets, dinner and/or overnight stays at the Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz at reduced rates, contact Sonja Sinclair Stevenson on 2156 2074 or e-mail sonjassli@waldonet.net.mt.
