Italian pop group I Pooh to perform in Malta in summer

This will be their first performance on the island

Italian mega pop group I Pooh announced on Thursday they will be performing in Malta this summer for the first time.

In an Instagram post, the group revealed they had long been “invited by Maltese friends” to sing in Malta.

“For the first time we will perform in this republic born in the middle of the Mediterranean, an archipelago rich in history and wonders,” the group said.

Formed in Bologna in 1966, the group is known for countless hits including “Uomini soli”, “Parsifal” and “Dove comincia il sole”.  It is currently fronted by Roby Facchinetti, Dodi Battaglia, Red Canzian and Riccardo Fogli who went on to have a successful solo career.

The group will be performing on September 12 at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre.
