Italian youth leaders meet Għajnsielem archpriest

Fr Joseph Hili had carried out pastoral work in Italy

A group of young tutors who guide youths at San Giuliano Milanese oratories, Italy, recently met Għajnsielem archpriest Joseph Hili, who for several years carried out pastoral work in this town.

During his ministry in the parishes of San Giuliano Milanese, Fr Hili guided these young people in their formation.

Today, they are themselves involved in pastoral work, serving as leaders for adolescents within the oratory. Following the conclusion of their university examinations, the group travelled to Gozo for a few days of rest.

During their stay, they explored the possibility of carrying out a voluntary service experience on the island during summer. San Giuliano Milanese has a strong, active network of oratories (youth centres) belonging to the Comunità Pastorale S. Paolo VI, which integrates several parishes within the municipality.

The oratories provide educational, recreational and religious activities, particularly focusing on summer camps.
