Keith Cremona has had his 26-month jail term reduced by five months after the Criminal Court of Appeal said that the charge of aggravated theft could not be proven in Mr Cremona’s regard, although he was an accomplice.

The case goes back to a hold-up on November 21, 2007 at a lotto booth in Annunciation Street, Sliema.

Defence lawyer Roberto Montalto said that only one of the three men involved actually held-up the shopkeeper. Since the car used belonged to Mr Cremona’s grandfather, the probability was that he was the driver and not the person who actually held up the woman.
