Two brothers were yesterday jailed for six weeks for assaulting and slightly injuring a couple last year.

Ivan Giliberti, 26, of Pembroke and his brother Massimo, 20, of Sliema were found guilty of assaulting and injuring Louis and Gaetana Dimech, hurling hard objects at them, damaging Louis Dimech's spectacles and breaching the peace in Pembroke on April 12, 2002.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera noted that the brothers' criminal records showed that they had been involved in several arguments and that they had threatened the Dimechs repeatedly.
