Jailtime and €22k fine for drug trafficker and money launderer

He was charged with trafficking heroin and cannabis within 100 meters of a school or youth centre

A 28-year-old man was jailed for 28 months and fined €22,000 after admitting to drug trafficking and money laundering.

Aliou Tijane Wade pleaded guilty to trafficking drugs, including heroin and cannabis, within 100 meters of a school or youth centre, as well as money laundering and relapsing on or before August 2025.

Magistrate Nadie Vella heard that Wade was found in possession of 35.5g of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), divided into five packets; 10.3g of cocaine in 37 sachets; and 106 pills identified as MDMA, a synthetic psychoactive drug with stimulant and hallucinogenic properties.

The court also ordered the confiscation of all his assets.
