An unemployed man posed as a haulage truck driver and made off with deposits from a number of shop owners,

it was alleged in court yesterday.

Gaetan Gatt, 39, of Marsa was charged with fraud after allegedly telling the shop owners last Sep-

temberandthisweekhecould do deliveryworkforthem but then did nothing of the sort.

Mr Gatt was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €5,000.

Police Inspector James Grech prosecuted.
