The unemployment rate, defined as the number of unemployed as a percentage of the labour force, stood at 7.3 per cent between April and June, according to the National Statistics Office.

The number of unemployed persons was estimated to be 11,529.

The male unemployment rate was 6.9 per cent while that of females stood at 8.3 per cent.

The majority, or 53.1 per cent, of the total unemployed persons were between 15 and 24 years of age.
