Jobs up by 4.7% in a year
Part-time as a primary job grew by 6.1%
Registered full-time employment totalled 305,372 in January, having increased by 4.7 per cent over January 2025, and by 0.4 per cent when compared to December.
The National Statistics Office said part-time as a primary job amounted to 36,228, increasing by 6.1 per cent when compared to January 2025. It was unchanged when compared to December.
Private sector full-time employment increased by 5.0 per cent over a period of one year reaching 249,598, up 0.4 per cent when compared to December.
Public sector full-time employment increased by 3.5 per cent since January 2025, totalling 55,774. That was an increase of 0.4 per cent when compared to the previous month.
When compared to January 2025, full-time employment for both men and women went up by 4.7 per cent, amounting to 183,885 and 121,487, respectively. When compared to the previous month, full-time employment for both men and women increased by 0.4 per cent.
