Tenants of a house in Qormi have filed a judicial protest in the First Hall of the Civil Court calling upon the police commissioner to take action against their landlord.
Michael and Maria Attard claimed they rented number 12, Stagno Alley, Qormi from Gina Attard and Maria Ebejer.
The Attards said they had, on three occasions, filed written complaints with the police inspector in Qormi requesting that criminal action be taken against the owners of their home as the house was in a dangerous state.
Ten months after the first complaint was sent the police had not yet taken the criminal action and the Attards and their family were exposed to danger.
The poor state of the house had been certified by architect Saviour Borg.
The Attards called upon the police commissioner to immediately warn Attard and Ebejer to take instant action to remove the danger and to file criminal action against them in case of default.
The police commissioner was also held liable in damages by the Attards.
