Kia Sportage now in Malta

Easysell (Kia) Malta Ltd launched the all-new Kia Sportage at their showrooms in Qormi last Wednesday.

Anthony De Bono welcomed the guests, including new and prospective owners, on behalf of Anthony Fenech, Easysell (Kia) Malta's managing director.

The sport utility (SUV) segment, he said, is expected to achieve annual sales of a million units by 2008, with models offering levels of comfort found in luxury cars.

Kia is the brand that has earned popularity for its value for money offerings. With a starting price of Lm12,500, the 4,350 mm long Sportage comes in a choice of 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines, apart from a range-topping 2.7 V6.

There is an option of chosing between two-wheel and four-wheel versions, but the 16-inch allow wheels are standard throughout the range. Other equipment includes remote central locking, a perimeter alarm, electronic immobiliser, six airbags and ABS.

Like the larger Sorento SUV, the Sportage has 60:40 split rear seats that fold flat for an easy load floor, a rear window that can be opened separately and lots of other features.
