The Malta Union of Teachers has strongly condemned a verbal attack made by a parent on a kindergarten assistant at the Anthony Valletta primary school at Ta' Paris, Birkirkara.

The incident occurred yesterday just after 8.30 a.m. when kindergarten children were entering the school with their parents, the union said. The verbal abuse caused other parents to fear leaving their children at school and the head teacher had to put their minds at rest that the situation had calmed down.

The incident was immediately reported to the Birkirkara police, the union said.
