Kingston and New York are the likely sites for the inaugural United States-Jamaica Challenge series next year, USA Track & Field chief executive Doug Logan said.

The series, matching athletes from Jamaica and the US in sprint events, is expected to be held in May and early June 2010.

Jamaican world record holder and Olympic champion Usain Bolt has said he would be interested in competing if the series goes ahead.

The idea for the challenge was born out of the rivalry between Jamaica's gold-medal winning Beijing Olympians and US sprinters, who dominated the 2007 world championships.
