Depiro captured the 2007-08 BOV Knock-Out trophy yesterday after a 52-40 victory over Luxol in the women's final.
There was little between the two teams for most of the opening three sessions. It was Luxol who took an early lead but Depiro managed to stay close to their opponents before forging ahead by half-time, 30-27.
The third session was littered with inaccurate passes from both sides but Depiro nailed the last shot of the quarter to hold a two-point advantage.
With Luxol taking seven minutes to obtain their first point in the last session, Depiro duly took advantage to open a nine-point lead on their way to winning the KO for the first time in their history.
Sarah Pace was Depiro's top scorer with 15 points while Beverley Zammit contributed 14 points for Luxol.
In the men's category, BUPA Luxol collected their third honour of the season after recording a comfortable 192-126 aggregate win over Mellieha SVS Reflections in the Louis Borg Cup final.
Luxol all but made sure of their success on Friday after winning the first leg by 50 points, 103-53. The second leg yesterday saw Mellieha, now playing with less pressure, put up more of a fight but Luxol were always in command to run out 89-73 winners.
Robert Azzopardi top-scored for Luxol with 50 points over the two legs while Chris Sammut was Mellieha's chief points contributor with 39.
