Last Sunday heralded the start of the KSFA doubles league which saw 40 contestants in pairs battling for a good start to the competition. This was the first match from six. After the atrocious weather of late the conditions were excellent and the match proceeded without a hitch.

The venue was Manoel Island and the match started at 6 a.m. Although winter is rather slow for fishing, as due to their metabolism fish tend to eat less in cold weather, the going was quite fluid with fish landed regularly.

Results: 1. Fishbusters (A. Genovese and M. Caruana 1.59kgs); 2. White Sharks (R. Vella and P. Poulton 1.46kgs); 3. Sponetta (S. Borg and T. Agius 1.27kgs).

The next match, from the singles league, is scheduled for March 2.

KSFA members will also figure in the national league, organised by the National Federation of Sport Anglers Malta. The first competition here will be tomorrow week at the Sliema Ferries.
