La Salle were the team to beat this season in men's competitions. They stayed unbeaten throughout the entire campaign to finish with maximum points.

No team in the local game has ever managed such an impressive run before - nine matches in the league and three in the MHA Cup.

Kavallieri offered a tough challenge to the champions in the first half, racing into a 4-2 lead. But, La Salle came back strongly, hitting five goals without reply before opening a 15-11 lead at the interval.

After the restart, La Salle maintained the upperhand but Kavallieri kept battling bravely till the end.

Dimitar Milev caught the eye for La Salle with 11 goals while Julian Xuereb was Kavallieri's best scorer with seven goals.

La Salle Vitality are also the undisputed leaders in this category after a convincing win over Aloysians. The league leaders started strongly, with goalkeeper Cynthia Borg and Nicolette Zarb Cousin in excellent form. Brenda Camilleri lifted Aloysians' game once she stepped on court.

Aloysians were clearly struggling to maintain the pace after the break.

Enjoying an eight-goal advantage, La Salle coach John Falzon drafted in some new faces for experience.

Nicolette Zarb Cousin netted seven times for La Salle while Brenda Camilleri hit four for Aloysians.
