Gzira council yesterday condemned its Labour councillors for walking out of a council meeting for the sixth consecutive time.

A statement signed by mayor Albert Rizzo, deputy mayor Victor Rutter and councillors Ian Micallef and Malcolm Camilleri said this behaviour had been ongoing since a meeting for residents last April.

The statement said it was clear that the Labour councillors wanted to disrupt meetings to try to hinder the council's work and lead to complaints from residents.
