Labour MEP Louis Grech has asked the European Commission for more up to date information on the case on Malta’s proposed power station extension by BWSC.

In a parliamentary question, he asked for confirmation as to whether an investigation was being held and if the Maltese government had replied to the Commission on time.

Mr Grech asked what had kept the Commission from embarking on its procedure earlier when any delays could result in serious complications.

Maltese taxpayers he said, expected the government not to continue hiding the facts from them.
