Labour raises record €1.8m in telethon

Fund-raiser held as the electoral campaign enters its last full week

The Labour Party raised €1,880,266 for its electoral campaign in a telethon on Sunday.

Party CEO Leonid McKay announced the figure, saying it was the biggest sum the PL had ever collected. 

Prime Minister Robert Abela thanked supporters, saying 'thank yous are not enough'. 

The fundraiser was held in Mqabba as part of the campaign leading up to the May 30 general election.
