The Labour Party's spokesman for transport, Joe Debono Grech, denied claims that a new Labour government would remove subsidies to bus owners.

He said subsidies being given now would be guaranteed and sustained by a new Labour government.

He said claims that a new government would not honour subsidies promised to those who have signed the contract to replace their bus would not be honoured, were untrue.

A Labour government would honour all the contracts for new buses.

It would also guarantee the same conditions to others who have not yet signed the contract.
