Our Lady of the Rosary painting for St Catherine residential home chapel

It was commissioned by donor Richard Palmier

A new acrylic-on-canvas painting of Our Lady of the Rosary (pictured) was recently unveiled at the chapel of St Catherine Home elderly residence in Attard.

The date has a special significance, coinciding not only with the month dedicated to the Holy Rosary, but also being the birthday of the donor, Richard Palmier.

The artwork, by local artist Mark Muscat, was commissioned by Palmier as a heartfelt gift of faith and devotion. A frequent visitor to the chapel, Palmier wanted to enrich its spiritual and artistic atmosphere, offering residents, visitors and the wider congregation a beautiful focal point for prayer and reflection.

The painting is lovingly dedicated to the cherished memory of Palmier’s late wife, Mary, and their beloved daughter, Lorna. Through this generous act, he wished to honour their lives while leaving a lasting legacy of love, hope and devotion to Our Lady, shared with all who enter the chapel.

Standing at the heart of the chapel, the painting will remain a gentle reminder of the power of faith to console and inspire. Palmier said he hopes it will ensure that the guiding presence of Mary will continue to bring comfort, strength and peace to all who gather at St Catherine Home’s chapel.
