The Land Department has signed a memorandum of understanding with its counterpart in Dubai with the aim of collaborating on technical subjects related to aspects of registration of property and regulations.

The agreement was signed by Parliamentary Secretary Jason Azzopardi on behalf of Malta.

There would be training and an exchange of information benefitting both sides, the secretariat said.

Dr Azzopardi said the Land Department was entering the international property scene, which would benefit it as it would be exposed to the best practices and systems used in different countries.

He said Malta was ready to take advantage of the opportunity to exchange skills in information technology and the management of property.

Sultan Bin Butti Bin Mejren, who signed for Dubai, said they welcomed the opportunity to partner with Malta, which would share its commitment in the management of property and a regulatory framework based on good professional practices.
