Investments Minister Austin Gatt has appointed Alec Mizzi chairman of Malta Industrial Parks Ltd.

The other government-appointed directors are Philip Micallef, Simon Vella, Anton Borg and George Borg.

Dr Mizzi graduated as a lawyer from the University of Malta in 1979 and Master of Laws from the University of London in 1980.

He joined the Alf. Mizzi & Sons Group in 1980 and was appointed managing director of Alf. Mizzi & Sons (Marketing) Ltd in 1986 and chief executive officer of the Alf. Mizzi & Sons Group in 1990.

Dr Mizzi sits on the boards of a number of Group companies as well as other companies, including HSBC Fund Management (Malta) Ltd. He has also served on the boards of the Water Services Corporation and the Malta External Trade Corporation (Metco).
