Discern is dedicating this year's Benjamin Tonna lecture to one of the most influential theologians of the 20th century - Karl Rahner. The lecture, entitled Karl Rahner: Theologian of Hope and Dialogue, will be presented by Oxford scholar Fr Philip Endean SJ, of Campion Hall, at the Radisson Hotel, St Julians on Monday at 7 p.m.

Discern said that the manner in which this great Jesuit theologian had served the Church was a veritable sign of the times. Rahner was also an eminently pastoral theologian, writing on the most urgent issues facing the Church and contemporary world.

The lecture is open to the general public.
