Lenten concert in Floriana

Musical 'Ikun li trid int – it-Triq tas-Salib' at St Publius parish church on March 23

The Maranatha Choir together with other choristers are presenting the musical Ikun li trid int – it-Triq tas-Salib at St Publius parish church, on March 23 at 7.30pm.

The featured songs focus on the theme of the Way of the Cross, exploring religious and societal themes through sacred and rock music.

Among the pieces being performed are Trauermusik (Manoel Pirotta) – an orchestral piece featuring the Maranatha Choir and the Norwegian Nord-Osterdal High School Student Choir; Ave Verum Corpus (W.A. Mozart); Pie Jesu (Andrew Lloyd Webber); Panis Angelicus (Franck César), featuring tenor Fredrick Skjeldal accompanied on the piano by Jelena Zlatarov-Marcetic; and two songs by Norwegian choir Allegro, under the direction of Jelena Zlatarov-Marcetic: Frode Fjellheim (Eatnemen Vuelie) and Henning Sommerro (Kveldssalme).

The finale will see an orchestral performance of Ġrajjietna (Manoel Pirotta).

Paul Abela is in charge of orchestration, while Manoel Pirotta is the event’s artistic director.

Tickets at €10 will be available at the door.
